There's not a lot to say this week.
Avengers 30 - I have no idea what I'm reading anymore. It's like one of the most mainstream superhero comics has been transformed into a super indie comic, with an ambitious, ten year plan plotted out, but it's got unlimited, infinite resources behind it, so it'll get told (almost) no matter what. At this point, I think it's almost useless to judge/review these books month by month. It'll be years until I understand what Hickman was doing here all along. Maybe it's great, maybe not, but it's certainly epic in scope.
Mind MGMT 22 - It's getting darker and darker, not only in tone, but also insofar as our heroes' ability to triumph over the forces massing against them. This is troubling. Meru's in a horrible place when the issue ends, Lyme appears to truly be dying, Perrier gets railroaded the whole issue and we didn't even get to see the other half of the good guy crew. Here's to hoping that next issue there's some ray of hope, otherwise it'll be over much more quickly than anyone anticipated.
Book of the week goes to Mind MGMT.
